After lunch, reenergized and ready, we’ll continue for another hour and fifteen minutes to the bottom of the valley, where you’ll encounter the rushing Apurimac River, known in Quechua as “Speaking God.” This river, with its class V rapids, is perfect for canoeing or rafting enthusiasts.

Take your time to explore every corner of the complex, located deep in the canyon, and soak in the breathtaking scenery. Your guide will lead you through the site, sharing its rich history and fascinating stories.
Choquequirao, larger than Machu Picchu, is believed to be only partially discovered, with experts estimating that only 40% has been explored. This means there is much more to uncover in the future. Visit plazas, temples, and impressive terraces, marveling at the ingenuity of the ancient civilization that built such remarkable structures atop the mountains.
Don’t miss the iconic white stone llamas, constructed to protect the sacred mountain overlooking the area, known as Apu Qoriwayrachina. Choquequirao remains a mystery in many ways, and future discoveries promise to reveal even more about this enigmatic site. At noon, enjoy lunch amidst the awe-inspiring surroundings.
In the afternoon, return to your camp at Marampata for a delicious dinner and a restful night under a sky filled with stars and constellations. Reflect on their meanings before drifting off to sleep
Day 3 – Marampata | Santa Rosa – Playa Rosalinas – Chiquisca.
