PACKAGE DETAILS

Half-day Mountain Bike Tour with visits to 4 Archaeological Sites

We will pick you up from your hotel at 9 am and travel in a private transportation to the Qorao pass. From there, we will start cycling towards Tambomachay, which is the first archeological site around the mountain of Cusco.

Next, we will continue cycling to visit Puca Pucara, Temple of the Moon, Qenqo, and finally explore the beautiful Fortaleza of Sacsayhuaman.

Along the way, we will pass by amazing landscapes and small villages, where some local farmers will be very curious to see us cycling! In the afternoon, we will finish our bike tour and end in the main square of Cuzco.

Cuzco is a city in southeastern Peru, nearby Urubamba Valley (in the Sacred Valley), Cuzco was the capital of the Inca empire.

Many believe that the city was planned to be shaped like a Puma. The city had two sectors, the urin and hanan, which were further divided into the four provinces, Chinchaysuyo (NW), Antisuyo (NE), Contisuyo (SW), and Collasuyo (SE). A road led from each of these quarters to the corresponding province of the empire.

Each local leader was required to build a house in the city and live part of the year in Cuzco, but only in the part of Cuzco that corresponded to the provinces of the empire where he had territory. According to Inca legend, the city was built by Sapac Inca Pachacuti, a man who transformed the Kingdom of Cuzco from a sleepy city-state into the vast empire of Tahantinsuyu. Archaeological evidence, however, demonstrated a slower growth than the city started before, Pachacuti.
