Itinerary
PACKAGE DETAILS | Inca Jungle Trail 3 Days / 2 Nights
Day 1-Cusco – Biking – Rafting – Santa Teresa.
Early Morning Departure from Cusco
Your adventure begins early in the morning. We will pick you up from your hotel around 6:00 a.m. From Cusco, we’ll drive through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing the native town of Chinchero, and enjoying panoramic views of the Vilcabamba and Vilcanota Mountain Ranges.
Stop in Ollantaytambo
After a 2-hour drive, we’ll stop in the Inca town of Ollantaytambo to stretch your legs and use the facilities. Then, we’ll continue driving up to Abra Malaga Pass at 4,350 meters (14,272 feet) above sea level.
Biking to Santa Maria
At Abra Malaga, you’ll get all the necessary biking gear and a brief training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable ride to Santa Maria. The downhill biking (40 km) starts high in the Andes, offering majestic views of the snow-capped Veronica Mountain. We’ll bike from Abra Malaga to the village of Huamanmarca.
Lunch and Rafting in Santa Maria
After biking, we’ll get back in the car and head to Santa Maria for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy an exhilarating white river rafting adventure. After rafting, we’ll catch the car again and transport you to the Cocalmayo Hot Springs in Santa Teresa town for a relaxing soak.
Evening in Santa Teresa
Once in Santa Teresa, you’ll settle into your accommodations. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in town.
Day 2- Santa Teresa – Zip Line – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes.
Morning Zipline Adventure
Start your day early, waking up around 6:30 a.m. After a hearty breakfast, the zipline company will pick you up around 8:00 a.m. to take you to their base. Here, you’ll receive all the necessary information and equipment for the activity.
Ziplining Experience
Enjoy an exhilarating two-hour zipline adventure, which includes four different cables and a suspension bridge. This thrilling experience will offer you stunning views and an adrenaline rush.
Journey to Hydroelectric and Lunch
After ziplining, take a car for a one-hour drive to Hydroelectric, where you’ll stop for lunch. Recharge with a delicious meal before continuing your journey.
Trekking to Aguas Calientes
Post-lunch, embark on a scenic three-hour hike along the train rails to Aguas Calientes. This trek allows you to soak in the lush surroundings and anticipate your visit to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will be escorted to your hotel.
Evening in Aguas Calientes
Around 7:00 p.m., enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Afterward, get a good night’s sleep in preparation for your early morning adventure to Machu Picchu.
Day 3 – Machu Picchu – Cusco.
Early Morning Ascent
The final day of your adventure begins early. Wake up around 4:00 a.m. to get ready for the hike to Machu Picchu’s main entrance. After grabbing your packed breakfast, start your 30-minute walk to the Puente Ruinas checkpoint, which opens at 5:00 a.m. Here, you’ll need to show your passport and Machu Picchu tickets.
Hike to Machu Picchu Main Gate
After passing the first checkpoint, embark on an uphill hike for about an hour to reach Machu Picchu’s main gate by 6:00 a.m (or according your entrance tickets).
Guided Tour of Machu Picchu
Once everyone is assembled at the gate, you’ll enter Machu Picchu for a comprehensive two-hour guided tour. Learn about the fascinating history of the Lost City of the Incas as your guide explains the significance of its remarkable structures.
Free Time to Explore
Following the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore Aguas Calientes on your own. How long you stay will depend on your return train ticket.
