Privacy Policy

In short: We do not sell your personal data. We use cookies on our website to measure the performance of our advertising and improve your experience, always with your consent. When you send us documents such as your passport, we handle them with strict confidentiality. And if at any point you’d like us to delete your information, just write to us at privacy@willkatravel.com

1. Introduction

We’ve been designing trips in Peru for over 30 years, and we put the same dedication into protecting your personal information that we put into taking care of every detail of your travel experience. This policy clearly explains what data we collect, what we use it for, and how we protect it, in compliance with Law 29733 — Peru’s Personal Data Protection Law and its regulations.

2. What information do we collect?

We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information generated when you visit our website.

2.1. Information you give us:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (including WhatsApp)
  • Country of residence
  • Travel dates and preferences
  • Number of travelers
  • Identity documents (passport, DNI, or TAM) when needed to manage entrance tickets, train reservations, or other services that require them

2.2. Information automatically generated on our website:

  • Browsing data through cookies
  • Information collected by the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure the performance of our advertising
  • Information collected by Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website

These tools provide us with statistical and aggregated information about visitor behavior on our site. We do not access your personal data individually through them. We commit to using this information exclusively for the purposes mentioned in this policy: measuring the performance of our advertising and improving your experience on our website.

2.3. If you file a complaint:

Our online Complaints Book also collects your home address, the details of your complaint and what you’re asking us to do. We also record the date and time you accepted the terms: that declaration takes the place of the signature a paper form would carry.

3. What do we use your information for?

3.1. To provide our service:

  • Contact you via WhatsApp, email, or phone to design and coordinate your trip
  • Manage reservations, entrance tickets (such as Machu Picchu), trains, hotels, and other services included in your package
  • Provide you with assistance during your trip

3.2. To process your payments:

  • Payments are processed through specialized external platforms: WeTravel, Izipay, PayPal, and Flow.cl
  • Your financial data never passes through our systems. We do not store card numbers, security codes, or banking information. Everything is handled directly by these payment platforms, each with its own security standards

3.3. To improve our advertising and marketing:

  • We use your email address and phone number to create custom audiences on Meta (Facebook/Instagram), which allows us to show you relevant advertising or find people with similar interests
  • We analyze browsing data on our website (through Meta Pixel and Google Analytics) to understand which content is most useful and to optimize our advertising campaigns
  • We will only send you offers, promotions, or updates via WhatsApp or email if you give us your consent. If you change your mind, you can unsubscribe at any time

3.4. Handling your complaints

If you file a complaint in our online Complaints Book, we use your information to identify you, look into what happened, send you a copy of your complaint form, and reply within the fifteen (15) business days set by Peru’s Consumer Protection and Defence Code

4. How do we protect your personal documents?

When you send us identity documents (passport, DNI, or TAM), they are necessary for managing services that require them under Peruvian regulations, such as Machu Picchu entrance tickets or the Cusco Tourist Ticket.

These documents are handled with strict confidentiality, used exclusively for the purpose for which they were requested, and are not shared with third parties except for providers directly involved in delivering the service (for example, the entity that issues the entrance tickets).

5. Who do we share your information with?

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

  • Tourism service providers (hotels, train companies, guides) to the extent necessary to operate your trip
  • Payment platforms (WeTravel, Izipay, PayPal, Flow.cl) to process your payments
  • Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google for advertising and analytics purposes, through tools such as the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics
  • Peruvian authorities, only when required by law
  • INDECOPI. If Peru’s consumer protection authority requests them, we’re required to hand over copies of complaint forms, under article 11 of the Complaints Book Regulation.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies:

  • Meta Pixel: Helps us measure the effectiveness of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram and show you relevant ads
  • Google Analytics: Allows us to understand how visitors navigate our site so we can improve their experience

7. Your rights

Your information belongs to you, and you have control over it. In accordance with Peruvian Law 29733:

  • Want to know what data we have about you? You can request a complete summary.
  • Is something incorrect or out of date? You can ask us to correct it.
  • Would you prefer that we delete your information? You can request this at any time.
  • Don’t want us to use your data for a specific purpose? You can object.

For any of these requests, write to us at: privacy@willkatravel.com. We will respond within a maximum of 10 business days.

One exception, and it’s the law. You can ask us to delete your data at any time, except for a complaint form within its first two years: there the law requires us to keep it and we can’t delete it. You can still access it, ask us to correct anything wrong, and object to us using it for anything other than handling your complaint.

8. How long do we keep your data?

We keep your information for as long as it is necessary to provide our service and meet our legal obligations. In the case of former clients, we retain data for the period established by applicable regulations.

About your identity documents: under Peruvian tax regulations (SUNAT), companies in the tourism sector are required to keep copies of clients’ passports and identity documents for a period of up to 5 years, as they support the tax exemptions applicable to tourism services. During this time, these documents are stored with the same confidentiality with which they were received and are not used for any other purpose.

If you requested information but did not make a purchase, we will keep your data for a maximum of 24 months so that we can serve you better if you contact us again, or to write to you if you decide to resume your travel plans. If you’d prefer that we delete it sooner, just ask us.

Complaints: at least 2 years. Article 12 of the Complaints Book Regulation requires us to keep every complaint form and the record of our reply for at least two (2) years from the day you filed it. This is a legal obligation and it applies even after your case is closed.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will indicate it by updating the date at the top of this page.

10. Have any questions?

We want you to travel with peace of mind, and that includes knowing your information is in good hands. If you have any questions about this policy or how we use your data, we’re available:

  • Email: privacy@willkatravel.com
